Two projects, one signature
Vitruvius Yacht Design, the design and naval architecture studio founded and led by Philippe Briand, one of the most respected names in yacht design worldwide, returns to the Monaco Yacht Show, from 23 to 26 September 2026, with two projects that made their debut this European summer. The studio, now Italian-based in Viareggio, presents in Monaco the M/Y Spirit, a 52-metre wellness-focused Tankoa Yachts, and the brand-new Fast 50, a single-deck fast yacht.
What unites them is the way of working. Vitruvius signs the concept, the exterior styling, the interior architecture and the naval architecture, an integrated approach that brings together aesthetics, function and engineering to design boats around the way each owner wishes to live at sea.
Fast 50: purity and speed in a single line
The Fast 50 is the most personal project of the season, and will be previewed in Monaco, with further details revealed during the event. At the owner's request, the studio pushed its own philosophy to the extreme: it is a single-deck yacht, with the sleekest and lowest profile the studio has ever drawn, all to express efficiency and speed. Top speed reaches 35 knots.
"Our passion is to design unique superyachts for unique owners. The essence of our design is purity and proportion, enhancing the owner's experience," says Philippe Briand. And he sums up the boat's concept in a single stroke: "We summarised the message of purity and speed in one line, the sheerline, the separation between the hull and the superstructure."
As exterior designer, Vitruvius worked closely with the owner, with interior designer Liaigre, naval architect Mulder and the shipyard Alia. The owner's vision, centred on balance, wellbeing and life on the water, guided the whole project, from one idea: the greatest luxury is not measured by volume, but by the quality of the experience on board.
Spirit: Tankoa's 52 metres making their Monaco debut
The second project on the Vitruvius stand is the M/Y Spirit, a 52-metre Tankoa Yachts conceived around wellbeing on board, making its highly anticipated world debut during the show. Like the Fast 50, it combines enduring elegance with a forward-thinking approach to yacht design, the hallmark of Briand's studio.
Vitruvius welcomes the press on stand LC 11, where the most recent images of the Fast 50 and the project documentation will be available, with the designers on hand to talk about each boat.
